The ASUS ESC4000A-E10 is a 2U single-socket accelerator server built for HPC, virtualization, cloud and enterprise workloads. This unit is configured with one AMD EPYC 7742 processor, 64-Core (128 Threads), and eight 3.5"/2.5" hot-swap bays with a backplane supporting four SATA/SAS and four SATA/SAS/NVMe devices, with two NVMe bays enabled by default and up to four supported. No HBA or RAID controller is installed, so SAS drives require an add-in card in the dedicated PCIe Gen4 x8 slot. It has eight DDR4 DIMM slots supporting up to 2TB of 3200 MT/s RDIMM memory. Expansion includes four PCIe Gen4 x16 full-height full-length slots for dual-slot GPU cards (or eight slots for single-slot cards), two low-profile PCIe Gen4 x16 slots, and one PCIe Gen4 x8 slot for an HBA or RAID card; a Mellanox ConnectX-5 Ex dual-port adapter is installed, so available slots depend on configuration. Networking is 2x Gigabit LAN via an onboard Intel I350-AM2 controller with a dedicated management port, plus the installed ConnectX-5 Ex dual-port adapter, and remote management is handled by ASMB9-iKVM with an AST2500 BMC. Power is supplied by two 2200W Platinum-rated units in a 2+0 configuration (both required, no redundancy). Sold as CPU only — no memory, GPUs, or drives included. Ships with power cables, all 8 drive carriers, and inner rails only; outer rail kit not included.
