The ASUS ESC4000A-E10 is a 2U single-socket accelerator server built for HPC, virtualization, cloud and enterprise workloads. This unit is configured with one AMD EPYC 7702P processor, 64-Core (128 Threads), and eight 3.5"/2.5" hot-swap bays with a backplane supporting four SATA/SAS and four SATA/SAS/NVMe devices. No HBA or RAID controller is installed, so SAS drives require an add-in card in the dedicated PCIe Gen4 x8 slot; note that enabling all four NVMe bays requires moving the Slimline cables from the PCIe riser board to the backplane. It has eight DDR4 DIMM slots supporting up to 2TB of 3200MHz RDIMM memory, and expansion includes four PCIe Gen4 x16 full-height full-length slots for dual-slot GPU cards (or eight x8 slots for single-slot cards), two low-profile PCIe Gen4 x16 slots, one PCIe Gen4 x8 slot for an HBA or RAID card, and one M.2 socket; a dual-port Mellanox ConnectX-5 Ex adapter and a dual-port Intel I350 Gigabit adapter are installed, so available expansion capacity depends on the current configuration. Networking is 2x Gigabit LAN via an onboard Intel I350-AM2 controller with a dedicated management port, plus the installed ConnectX-5 Ex and I350 adapters, and remote management is handled by an AST2500 BMC. Power is supplied by two 2200W Platinum-rated units in a 2+0 configuration, with both units required and no redundancy. Sold as CPU only — no memory, GPUs, or drives included. Ships with a power cable and inner rails only; outer rail kit not included.
