About this item

The Supermicro CSE-847E2C-R1K23JBOD is a 4U high-density JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks) storage enclosure. It is designed for enterprise-level, heavy-capacity storage applications like cloud backups, data replication, and data warehousing.

  • High-density storage: The chassis supports up to 44x 3.5" hot-swappable SAS/SATA drive bays (24 in the front and 20 in the rear).
  • High-speed connectivity: Features a SAS3 (12Gbps) dual-expander backplane, providing load balancing and redundancy for high-performance data transfers.
  • Dual-expander backplane: The chassis includes two backplanes, one for the front bays and one for the rear, both with dual-expanders. The backplanes can support both SAS and SATA drives, though SATA drives will not have the full redundancy feature provided by the dual expanders.
  • Redundant power: Comes equipped with dual 1200W Titanium Level (1+1) redundant power supplies with PMBus for maximum power efficiency and uptime.
  • Hot-swap components: Features hot-swappable, redundant cooling fans (7x 80mm middle fans) and hot-swappable hard drive bays for easy maintenance and zero downtime.
  • Remote management: A built-in JBOD Power Control Board with IPMI allows for remote monitoring, power on/off, and fan speed control.
  • High availability: Provides high availability and redundancy with dual expanders, dual power supplies, and hot-swap fans.
  • Connectivity ports: Includes 8x External mini-SAS HD (SFF 8644) ports and an IPMI RJ45 port for management.
